There are many health benefits of using Coconut Oil to cook and bake with, including, but not limited to, increased immunity, stress relief, proper digestion and helping to maintain cholesterol levels. There are also a million and one ways to incorporate Coconut Oil into your daily beauty regime, and that of your little ones. What are these ways, you ask? Today we’ve compiled 8 super awesome uses for that tropical fruit oil that smells oh so good and makes us dream of that beach vacay. So, whether you are a CO fan or wannabe (you’re just a little unsure of how to introduce yourself in Aisle 3 and get to know one another), read on for a few tricks of the trade.

1. Coffee Creamer, hold the cream
Skip that cream or 2% milk, and mix one scrumptious tablespoon of Coconut Oil into your favourite coffee beverage for a sweet taste.

2. Hair Moisturizer
For an intense hair moisturizing mask, apply a tablespoon or two of Coconut Oil to damp hair and let it sit for a few minutes. This can be either in the shower or afterwards. Make sure to pull your hair into a tight bun (or braids) to ensure that your hair soaks up the goodness.

Just finished blow drying your hair and are experiencing fly-aways? Then rub a dime size (repeat: dime size) of Coconut Oil onto the palm of your hands and very lightly comb through the bottom of your hair (not the top – avoid the roots).

3. Skin Moisturizer
Coconut Oil is our go-to for an all-over body moisturizer right before bed. However, it’s also fantastic specifically for dry cuticles, lips and under the eyes.

4. Make Up Remover
Have you struggled to find the perfect, all-natural eye make up remover? Well, here’s your answer! Using an organic cotton ball, apply a dime size of Coconut Oil onto your eyelids and the surrounding area. It feels good, smells good – and voila! – you look good too! Make up is gone!

5. Oil Pulling
An ancient Ayurvedic technique that not only improves your oral health, but your overall health as well. Using a tablespoon of Coconut Oil swish it around the inside of your mouth for 15-20 minutes in the morning or before bed. This will help to draw out toxins in the body and reduce mucus/extra fluid that may be hanging around.

6. Diaper Cream
Say goodbye to your store bought diaper cream, and hello to au natural goodness. Applying this yummy smelling stuff onto your baby’s skin will help moisturize, soothe and heal diaper rash.

7. Shaving Cream
When you’re at the grocery store next, pick up 2 jars of organic, unrefined Coconut Oil – one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. Using a quarter size of CO, get your shave on, whether it be legs, underarms, face – you name it!

8. Body Scrub
Another miracle bathroom, beauty regime is the body scrub! Mixing a half cup of all-natural sea salt or sugar (depending on your preference) with an equal amount of melted Coconut Oil, apply this bad boy all over your body. You will scrub away dead skin cells, and moisturize those rough patches in no time!

And as a special added BONUS:

9. Quiet Those Squeaky Door Hinges
That’s right! You heard us! Having a problem with never-ending creaky and squeaky doors? Forget running to the nearest Home Depot for a can of WD-40 – open up your kitchen cabinet instead. A little application of Coconut Oil and all you’ll be hearing is silence.
