Yumm! Fruit & Chia Seed Pudding! | Boogie Down Studio

We’re always looking for a nutritious and delicious meal that can be whipped together in no time, and even better, taken to go. This week, we’re all about freshly prepared, homemade fruit & chia seed pudding! After tasting such a scrumptious concoction (as pictured above) made at Toronto’s all-organic, hot spot, The Feel Good Guru, our tastebuds and tummies haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. So, we hit the kitchen to see how many yummy whole food creations we could come up with. Too many, if you are wondering. The possibilities are endless! But for the sake of sharing, we picked our favourite – get the recipe below!

STEP 1
The Jar
– Ideally, pick a small mason jar with a lid for your tasty snack. Using glass is not only better for you, but better for the environment too (every little bit helps).

STEP 2
The Crunch
– Layer the bottom of your jar with an all-natural granola (without added sugar)
(Alternative: Make your own crunch by lightly grinding up a mixture of nuts and seeds, such as walnuts and almonds, pumpkin, sesame and chia seeds, dates, raisins and maple syrup to taste.)

STEP 3
The Pudding
– In a separate bowl, blend together fresh almond milk and dates. Once finished, mix in black chia seeds and lightly stir until thickened, then layer on top of the Crunch.
(Alternative: Almond or coconut yogurt with chia seeds)

STEP 4
The Fruit
– Add to the Pudding some fresh, thinly sliced banana, pear, blueberries and raisins.
(Alternative: Strawberries, raspberries, apple or goji berries)

STEP 5
The Sprinkle
– For the final touch, a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
(Alternative: Cocoa)

And voila! There you have your quick and easy 5-step fruit & chia seed pudding process. A fantastic recipe that can be prepared on the spot or the night before, and can be taken on the go! Enjoy!
