4/09/2022 We moved our daughter from another studio (not named) to Boogie Down for many reasons. For starters, they are organized and you know when the competitions are in advance, so you can plan your vacation(s) accordingly. Secondly there is no Sunday dancing, and minimal Saturday dancing unless you are a tiny tot. Lastly, they treat you like family in the studio and teachers are just awesome. I highly recommend Boogie Down!Mateo's YouTube Channel

Emma has a heart of gold and it beats throughout the whole studio, everyone here is kind, happy, talented, hardworking and genuinely loves what they do! Hannah McCarthy began dancing at the age of 3 and was a full-time competitive dancer at Boogie Down for 10 years. During her years, she has trained in many styles including: Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Lyrical. Throughout her time at Boogie Down, she developed a strong passion for tap which led her to pursue additional tap training with the incomparable Juliana Kelly and her company, The Rhythm Ensemble. Hannah has won numerous overalls and special awards at competitions and is always finding new opportunities to learn and grow as a tap dancer. Hannah has loved assisting over the years and has wanted to be a teacher ever since she was little. Hannah is extremely excited to share her love and passion for tap dance with her students!

Aurora Martinez is a passionate ballet dancer and instructor with over 20 years of experience in teaching and performing this beautiful art form.
Her career began at the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey, where she earned her B.A. in Classical Ballet. Over the years, she’s had the opportunity to work and learn alongside notable figures in ballet, such as Robert Hill, José Manuel Carreño, Yoel Carreño, and Jaime Vargas.
She has had the privilege of teaching at various renowned dance studios, where she’s taught ballet, pointe, jazz, and conditioning classes for both children and adults. Her performance experience includes numerous productions with Ballet de Monterrey, playing roles in “The Nutcracker,” “Swan Lake,” and “La Bayadere,” among others. She has also brought her passion for dance to international stages, performing in various cities across Spain.
As an instructor, her goal is to inspire and nurture a love for dance in each of her students, helping them to reach their full potential in a supportive and motivating environment.
Aurora is excited to join our wonderful studio and to share her experience and love for ballet with all of you!!

Tyler is a musically innovative and originative artist always looking for ways to push his limits rhythmically and physically in his performance and choreographic style. Exploration of unprecedented artistic ideas fuels Tyler’s drive to continue dancing and creating. As a recent graduate of the Centennial College Dance Performance Diploma Program, Tyler’s journey is be described as a determined, inspiring artist, branching out in as many paths and further unraveling his passions for dance and the arts. In dance, Tyler is already establishing his name as a teacher, performer and choreographer in the industry, as well as exploring paths in modeling, acting, directing and writing. Tyler is a curious and light hearted spirit, who finds his artistic joy by pushing the boundaries and discovering his full capabilities in his styles and passions.

We are so excited to welcome Victoria to the Boogie Down team!!
Victoria Ruth discovered her passion for dance at the age of seven while training at the Canadian Dance Company under the direction of Allain Lupien. She possesses a diverse background in Classical Ballet/ Pointe, Tap, Acro, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Large Group Productions. Victoria has competed at an international level, securing numerous awards for her solo, duet, trio, and line performances across North America. She deepened her knowledge base and skills through the University of Toronto (Mississauga)’s Dance Team where she trained for two years. Victoria also served as an Assistant Captain and choreographer for the team.
Over the past six years, Victoria has shared her love for dance by teaching at various studios across Ontario. Known for crafting one-of-a-kind and captivating routines, she has received numerous Judges’ Choice Awards, Choreography Awards, and Overall Titles.
Beyond her teaching duties, Victoria continues to hone her craft by training with Toronto’s elite instructors and attending the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo. She is also an active member of the Alixa Flexibility method, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices. Victoria assumed the role of assistant choreographer for the Canada Galaxy Pageant in 2023, crafting a memorable opening number. Her passion for dance has also led her to perform for two professional sports teams: the Toronto Wolfpack (RLFC) and the Toronto Rock (NLL) as a Rock City Dancer.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes dedication, hard work, and instilling belief in her students’ potential. Victoria is thrilled to share her passion for dance with the world!

We are so excited to introduce Jack West to the Boogie Down team!
Jack West is a passionate dancer, choreographer and artist. Born and raised in Oakville Ontario. His journey as a dance began when he was 10 years old at Live To Dance Academy. Jack trained in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical and Hip hop.
Jack’s passion for his craft can be seen in many ways- his dedication to hard work and his constant pursuit of learning from others. Jack has attended international workshops and competitions and applies his learning and experiences into his classes and choreography. Jack has studied with Stacey Tookey, Akira Uchida, Kirsten Russell and many other distinguished choreographers.
Through Jack’s dance career he has earned many accomplishments such as Senior Mr Candance, Top 17 senior male at The Dance Awards, 4th place Adult Male Jazz soloist (Slovenia IDO) and many more. Judges and choreographers call out his use of music and expression as key components of his success.
Jack has also expanded his love for dance into choreography. His choreography has been showcased in Slovenia, at the Dance Awards in Las Vegas and Orlando and at many regional competitions. This year his work was recognized with multiple choreography awards, special recognition and overall placements.
Jack is looking forward to pursuing a career in choreography and can’t wait to create with all of you! ✨

We are excited to introduce Sarah to the Boogie Down Team!
Sarah is an inspiring, compassionate and successful dance educator who has been an instrumental part of arts education in her community. As a young dancer she trained at the prestigious Quinte Ballet School and she is an Honours graduate, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Sarah’s performing arts career led her to some incredible opportunities to dance and perform in shows such as: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast and Cats to name a few. Sarah is also an accomplished pianist, as well as, a singer who was a lead singer for a Jazz Big Band that travelled throughout North America. As a dance educator, Sarah’s students train hard and achieve immense success. Sarah’s elite competition dance team has won numerous accolades such as: National and International Solo Titles, Top Scoring Group Routines, Top Choreography, Top Studio Awards, as well as, several gold, silver and bronze medals at The Dance World Cup in both Spain and Portugal and World Tap Championships in Germany. Sarah’s most current project is a content author for the LEAP dance platform, Live Dream Dance which is a recreational dance curriculum available to dance educators around the globe. Sarah wishes all her students an incredible year in dance and arts education!

We are so excited to have Aly join the Boogie Down team, bringing tons of energy and fun into her classes!!
Aly’s journey in dance started at a very young age. At just a year old she was enrolled in her first dance class, which sparked an unwavering passion inside her and a desire to pursue a future in dance. She began competitive dance training at six, mastering a wide range of styles including Hip-hop, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, and Pointe.
Over her twelve years of competing across North America, Aly garnered numerous awards and scholarships, showcasing her talent and commitment. Her career reached new heights when she joined Team Canada, training under renowned choreographers Matthew Clark,
Breanna Willis, Wendy Laidlaw, Mike Glenney, Julie Kelly and Kim Chalovich. Representing Canada, she proudly brought home two silver medals from competitions in Germany and South Africa for her performances. Currently, Aly has made a return to Team Canada and will be competing at the IDO World Tap Championships in Prague in November.
Aly’s dedication also led her to train with prestigious dance companies across the US, including Tracie Stanfield’s summer intensive as a Synthesis dance apprentice. During quarantine, she continued her growth virtually with Chloe & Maud Arnold’s Sole Talk Youth program and in the summer of 2021 joined Marinda Davis’ dance company, Marinspirations to train as a Storyteller.
Passionate about teaching, Aly started mentoring at her home studio at just 15. She strives to create a supportive and fun environment where her students feel safe to challenge themselves and express their true selves through dance.
Aly’s journey is a testament to her talent, hard work, and love for dance, inspiring dancers of all ages to pursue their dreams with passion and dedication.

We are excited to announce one of our newest members to the Boogie Down team, Brigitte Turnbull! Brigitte began dancing at the age of four, has a become a 3-time Canadian title holder, and showcased her skills on the popular Canadian TV show, “The Next Step”. She recently completed a contract with Royal Caribbean Productions, touring internationally and working with renowned choreographers. As a dance teacher, she focuses on finding a balance of technique and creativity in her students, creating a supportive environment where they can explore their unique style. She is thrilled to share her love for acro and inspire the next generation of dancers!
Brigitte will be teaching both our competitive and recreational acro classes this fall. We are so excited to see her bring a new level of experience and expertise to the studio! Who’s ready to bring their technique to the next level?! ✨
